Baystar Restaurant Group is the parent company of 11 Pinellas County restaurants; Salt Rock Grill, Island Way Grill, Rumba Island Bar & Grill , Seaweed Steaks Seafood & Sushi, Salt Rock Tavern, Marina Cantina, Salt Cracker Fish Camp, Poke Havana, Roundabout Pizza & Bar Tiki.
Led by Frank Chivas, Baystar aims to provide both a delicious experience and an excellent value. Baystar restaurants have a warm tropical feel, and feature menus dominated by fresh seafood, much of which is provided by Chivas' own fleet of dayboats. This source of fresh local seafood combined with creative chefs has established a strong reputation for Baystar’s restaurants as excellent dining destinations within the Tampa Bay area.
Boat Seafood
When you visit any Baystar Restaurant you know you will be getting the freshest fish available. Baystar Restaurant Group, works with local fishermen via Direct Seafood to provide fresh-off-the-boat gag grouper, black grouper, red snapper, lane snapper, amberjack, yellowtail, & more!
Our fishermen dock at Salt Rock Grill at our own processing facility, and filet and ship 100s of pounds of fresh fish daily to all Baystar restaurants.
In addition, we partner with Salt Cracker Charters, located at the Clearwater Marina, to provide charter fishing excursions & bring even more fresh seafood to you!

Frank Chivas has been a restaurateur in Pinellas County for over fifty years. Baystar Restaurant Group was founded in 1997 when Frank and the late Chef Tom Prichard opened Salt Rock Grill. The company has grown tremendously and so has the Baystar Team. It is with Frank's leadership, the freshest seafood & steak around and being surrounded by an outstanding staff, that makes Baystar successful.
